Bulk Code 128 Generator for Library Books

Modernize your library by creating unique, scannable labels for every book in your collection, quickly and for free.

An efficient library relies on a fast check-in and check-out process. Assigning a unique barcode to every book is the first step. Our Bulk Barcode Generator is the perfect tool for creating hundreds or thousands of book labels from your catalog data.

Why Code 128 is Ideal for Library Books

For internal library systems, **Code 128** is an excellent choice. It's a compact, alphanumeric barcode that can easily encode unique identifiers (e.g., `BOOK-001234`, `FIC-TOL-001`). This flexibility allows it to work with any existing or new library management software.

Step 1: Export Your Book IDs

In a CSV or Excel (`.xlsx`) file, create a single column with a unique ID for every book you need to label. The first row must be the header, for example, `BookID`.

Step 2: Design the Book Label

Open the Bulk Barcode Generator and upload your file.

  1. Set Label Size: Library labels are typically small (e.g., 2" x 1"). Set your dimensions accordingly.
  2. Add Barcode: Add a barcode element and ensure its format is set to Code 128.
  3. Link Data: Link the barcode's value to your `BookID` column.
  4. (Optional) Add Text: Add a text element and also link it to `BookID` so the ID is human-readable.
