Why Code 128 is Great for Internal Pallet IDs

For a closed-loop system where you control both the label creation and scanning, a straightforward Code 128 barcode is highly effective. It allows you to create simple, alphanumeric Pallet IDs (e.g., `PALLET-00001`, `PALLET-00002`) without the complexity of Application Identifiers required by GS1-128.

Step 1: Generate a List of Unique Pallet IDs

In a CSV or Excel (`.xlsx`) file, create a single column with a unique ID for every pallet you need to track. The first row must be the header, for example, `PalletID`.

Step 2: Design the Pallet Label

Open the Bulk Barcode Generator and upload your file.

1. Set Label Size: Pallet labels are typically large (e.g., 6" x 4"). Set your dimensions accordingly.
2. Add Barcode: Add a barcode element and ensure its format is set to Code 128.
3. Link Data: Link the barcode's value to your `PalletID` column.
