Bulk Code 39 Generator for Asset Tags

Streamline your asset management by creating unique, scannable labels for every piece of equipment in your organization.

Keeping track of company assets like laptops, tools, and furniture is critical. A reliable asset tracking system starts with a unique barcode on every item. Our Bulk Barcode Generator is the perfect tool for creating hundreds of durable asset tags from a simple spreadsheet.

Why Code 39 is a Great Choice for Asset Tags

For internal, closed-loop systems, **Code 39** is a robust and widely supported choice. It is an alphanumeric format, allowing you to create simple and human-readable Asset IDs (e.g., `ASSET-001`, `LAPTOP-1025`). Its simplicity ensures it can be read by almost any barcode scanner.

Step 1: Prepare a List of Your Asset IDs

In a CSV or Excel (`.xlsx`) file, create a column with a unique ID for every asset you need to track. The first row must be the header, for example, `AssetID`. Remember that standard Code 39 is uppercase only.

Step 2: Design the Asset Tag

Open the Bulk Barcode Generator and upload your file.

  1. Set Label Size: Asset tags come in various sizes. Choose one that fits your equipment (e.g., 2" x 1").
  2. Add Barcode: Add a barcode element and set its format to Code 39.
  3. Link Data: Link the barcode's value to your `AssetID` column.
  4. (Optional) Add Text: Add a text element and also link it to `AssetID` so the ID is easily readable. You could also add your company name as static text.
